Good morning everyone once again Food Sock West Coast was able, due to the generous donations of a few family members, friends and anonymous donors, to deliver 23 Food Socks to Kath at Little Brinks NPO. My heartfelt thanks goes out to those that donate on a regular basis - without you this would not be possible. I salute you!

Good morning everyone - it's been a long time coming but Food Sock West Coast was able to hand over 30 Food Socks to the Melkbos Care Centre this morning. I sincerely thank all my friends, family and anonymous donors - without your generosity this would not be possible. Over and above the food socks we were able to donate children's clothing and shoes, toys and 16 beanies.
If you would like to donate towards this ongoing project please send me a WhatsApp on 082 877 7159. The price of one (large) cappuccino can feed a family of four to five adults or 6 to 7 children. Each food sock costs a mere R45.
There are numerous charitable organisations and NGO's that can benefit from your generosity. Take care and stay warm! 🙂

Well done to Carl van Blerk of Food Socks in George, George Round Table 30 and Queenstown Round Table 16 for contributing to this worthy cause.

We continue to support the families affected by the building collapse disaster in George and with huge thanks to the George Round Table 30, Queenstown Round Table 16 and Food Socks who, through their expertise and generosity have been able to fund the families with food, toiletries and other household necessities for the next few months. We are proud to be coordinating and working with the donors to make a small difference in their lives.

Food Sock West Coast had the privilege of meeting Charmaine and her team at Lily Rose Community Farm on Saturday morning. We handed over 25 x Chicken & Veg Soup socks together with fresh carrots, potatoes and onions.
There are currently 140 residents at the farm and they are provided with 3 meals per day. Charmaine and her team have done an amazing job at the farm but it is a constant work in progress with a lot still to be done! Any donations of clothing, crockery etc. would be most welcome. What they cannot make use of will be sold at their charity shop to generate much needed funds.

I had the great privilege of meeting Charmaine on Saturday morning when Food Sock West Coast delivered 25 x Chicken & Veg Soup socks together with fresh carrots, potatoes and onions to the Lily Rose Farm. Charmaine and her dedicated team are moving mountains to make the farm as comfortable as possible for the many pensioners that are living there. A place that they can call "Home". A lot of blood, sweat and tears has gone into developing this community and I once again challenge all the folk out there who would like to make a donation, whether its towards food socks, fresh foodstuffs, clothing etc. What they cannot use will be sold in the charity shop.

This is such a devastating tragedy - we pray for the people trapped under the rubble and for their families waiting anxiously for news of their safe recovery.

Our hearts ache with shock and horror as we wake up to the devastating update news of the ongoing recovery efforts at the George building collapse site. 💔 The pain is unimaginable, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic disaster.

In times like these, it's crucial to come together as a community. That's why the Garden Route Food Pantry, in partnership with Food Sock Meals, is stepping up to provide approximately 250 meals daily to the brave heroes working tirelessly on site.

To everyone impacted by this tragedy, know that you are not alone. We stand with you, offering our support, love, and solidarity during this difficult time. Together, we will overcome and rebuild. 💪

Another successful donation of food socks to Little Brinks NPO this afternoon. Without your donations this would not be possible and I thank all of those folk who already donate so generously towards this "food drive" initiative. Thank you to Phindi and Chelsea who were there to take delivery and very patiently waited whilst we took some pics!
I am appealing once again to everyone out there - please help make a difference in the lives of the many children and families that need the luxury of food to go about their daily lives!
It's a mere R45 to feed a family of 4-6 adults or 6-7 children - the price of one and a half cups of coffee.
Our next donation is ready and waiting to be delivered to the Lilly Rose Community Farm. Pics to follow!
