This is revolutionary to the South African flair scene as flairtenders can measure their annual performances on a regular basis by collecting as many FA points as possible. Very easy, every comp that’s FA affiliated will give the contenders points based on their standing in that particular competition based on a structured points break down.
1st place 100 points
2nd place 90 points
3rd place 80 po

4th place 70 points
5th place 60 points
6th place 50 points
7th place 40 points
8th place 30 points
9th place 20 points
10th place 10 points
All the points will be updated on a monthly basis so that every flair bartender can see where they are ranked in the country on the FA national tour. Basically the more you compete, the more points you stand to win. The top 10 will all receive a prize at the end of the year according to their national standings, with the ultimate winner taking away the FA trophy. The following criteria need to be met in order for any competition to qualify for FA points.
1. The flair comp must be an open competition.
2. There must be four judges at all times (1 negative mark scorer and three positive marks scorers)
3. There must be a FA qualified judge on the panel
4. The flair area should have proper lighting
5. There must be prizes for at least the top three contestants
6. A bar back needs to be supplied by the comp organizers to assist the bartenders in setting up and cleaning up.
8. There must be a minimum of 6 competitors. All FA points are open to local and international competitors. How does this benefit the competition organizers? The FA points system not only serves as a official ranking system for Africa ,but also as a great motivator to flair bartenders to enter .This will encourage all the flair bartenders to compete all over the country. Furthermore, FA will also assist in the marketing of the competition through their local and international database as well as their digital media, basically every one will know about the competition. FA will also do a seasonal write up about the competition on their website; face book fan page and Muddle Magazine. The CFS and NFS will hand out any fliers of competition to the on trade. This will insure that all the competitions affiliated with Flair Africa get maximum exposure. Flair Africa will also assist in the design of the competition if required.
