💧 From challenging influent to clear results.

We set out to treat a complex combination of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage for a large operation at a macadamia packhouse.

The project brought some unforeseen challenges, with influent conditions significantly exceeding the original design parameters. We were immediately alerted through our online monitoring platform, allowing us to respond quickly.

Working closely with the client, we adapted the approach as the project evolved, troubleshooting, monitoring the system day and night, refining the process and staying focused on achieving the best possible treatment result.

Today, the system is running well at 50 m³/day, with some impressive results:

>95% COD & BOD reduction
>35% NH₄ reduction
>95% FOG reduction
Zero suspended solids
Zero microbiological counts

🗂️ From the project folder…

A few shots from our installation team on site last week as they completed this rather special urban conservation project. 🌱💧

What started as corporate office space is being transformed by Amazon.com into almost 700 m² of planted conservation space, including living walls, terraria and planters filled with carefully selected plant life.

Two-thirds of the planters feature indigenous plants representing four local vegetation types, while more than a third of the planted installations make space for threatened, hyperlocal fynbos species, plants unique to the Western Cape that were carefully relocated from nearby development sites.

And, of course, all those plants need the right water to thrive. 💧 So, we delivered a carefully designed water treatment system to support the space and its plants for the long term.

Installation complete. ✅ System commissioned. Conservation ready to thrive 🌱
