All in a days work - even on a Saturday.
Here we have Johan and Dylan, torn away from their desks and thrust into the heat and dust of a gold mine in Senegal. Job of the day is commissioning a containerised sewage treatment plant - that caters for the catered needs of 300 odd souls. Thanks team for making this happen - a plan on paper has morphed into a fully functional sewage processing and treatment machine. Watch this space for some photos.

This might look like chaos - but watch this space. Eugene is waving his wand and very soon this will be a very high end borehole water treatment plant. Designed to meet the needs of 5000 church goers, the water treatment plant will ensure continous supply of pure drinking water. The installation is south of Johannesburg and as most of us know, Johannesburg is battling with water supply issues.

When one diffuser dome fails in an aeration chamber simple repair and replacement is not an option. The chamber needs to be emptied. This bit of bad luck came our way on Friday last week. Our quick thinking team leader Johan arranged delivery of big bags "dam sakke" as they are called. The contents of the chamber were pumped to the dam sakke for temporary storage. By Saturday morning the chamber was shallow enough to make the necessary repairs. The dam sakke were then emptied back to the aeration chamber. No problem!

And so it was with our pump-recovery team,
300 kilometres outside Cape Town. Murphy had other plans for the team. Luckily Eugene was able to pick up the pieces and the job went ahead without any more hitches. Thanks manne for working so hard under difficult circumstances.

It takes all types to make a team. Here we have the team (bar one) that recently upgraded a wastewater treatment plant near Simondium. Upgrade of a treatment plant is required if the treatment plant is getting old or the treatment demand has increased. In this case the demand has almost doubled in the last few years. As a business grows, so too do the infrastructure demands.

A tricky job requiring a steady hand - and luckily that is exactly what Thomas has. Here we have very heavy submersible pump being steadily lowered to its perch. In pump parlance it is sliding down guide rails to be seated on a duck foot bend.

When wastewater is effectively treated, excess nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus are removed, reducing algal blooms that deplete oxygen. Toxic chemicals, pathogens, and suspended solids are also filtered out, ensuring clear, oxygen-rich water where trout can breathe and spawn. Healthy treatment processes maintain stable water temperatures, pH, and dissolved oxygen levels — all essential for trout survival and for sustaining balanced aquatic ecosystems.
