Here we have a filtration system for the notoriously challenging Theewaterskloof water supply. Two automatically back-washing filters - one AFM and the other GAC. We are not expecting miracles - but the treated product will be nice and sparkly. Thanks to Eugene and his team for putting this package together.

Nothing like an unannounced visit from DWS to get a sewage treatment plant sparkling. Not much can be done about the treatment process in 24 hours so best to make sure the works are working well all the time. Now days we all have access to real time monitoring technology - so if the fan is not working nicely a team can be dispatched chop chop to clear the mess

Here is Noel number one welder. Unlike most of us Noel can tell a tig from and mig and an arc from a spark. Along with loyal Mark, this pair has put together aeration manifolds, container floors and walls, clarifiers and so much more. Indeed we are a fortunate lot to have these two on board.

You might be forgiven for thinking this image is a chinese hat. It is in fact a weather cover for two side channel blowers. Here in Cape Town we have wonderful industries that can cut and bend steel into just about any shape. Most important is off-course the skill required to make the design and even more important the initiative and imagination to think of it in the first place - and for this a big thank you goes to Johan.

Cable theft is a common occurrence in South Africa. Here we have interconnecting cables between two containers nicely (actually not so nicely) removed. The cost in man-power to replace the severed cable outstrips the cable value by about 40 to 1. It is an incredibly wasteful exercise. One cannot but wonder who buys the stolen cable and why is this so called business is not stopped in its tracks.
