This World Aquatic Day, we’re reflecting on a Saturday spent at one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks. On Human Rights Day, our team joined forces with more than 200 volunteers for a coastal clean-up on Robben Island.

It was an inspiring sight to see so many people join us to help safeguard this World Heritage Site. Working alongside incredible partners such as FNB South Africa, Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport – Minster Ricardo Mackenzie, Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation, and SANCCOB, we spent the day collecting waste harmful to the coastal ecosystems as well as the endangered African Penguins that inhabit the island.

From festival crowds to family fun and match day moments, Cape Town brought the energy this weekend.

We loved being part of it all, from the Southern Mail Wynberg Family Festival to Samsung Galaxy K Day, right through to the electric DHL Stormers vs Edinburgh clash.

A huge shout out to our competition winners, too. Seeing you experience the International Jazz Festival and cheer on the Stormers with that much excitement? That’s the real magic!

As one winner put it: “I had an amazing, unforgettable experience. A little dream come true for us!”
