The Gourmet Chef was launched in 2006 by Mark Hoberman after a successful career in some of Cape Town’s top hotels and restaurants. It was Mark’s dream to bring honest, elegant simplicity to his clients private homes, corporate events and weddings. As a result of COVID-19, The Gourmet Chef has launched a range of some of his signature rustic home delivered meals. His client feedback has been that they taste amazing and the portions are very generous.

☀️ Sunshine, Good Food & Birthday Celebrations with Family and Friends ✨

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of creating a delicious selection of canapés and bowl/tapas-style dishes for a special birthday celebration — bringing together beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients and flavours designed to keep guests coming back for more.

A few of the dishes from the menu included:

🍅 Roasted Vine Tomato Tartlets — goat’s cheese & basil pesto
🥒 Zucchini Fritters — lemon & chive crème fraîche
🍤 Asian Tiger Prawns — panko & sesame crust, sweet chilli mayo
🐟 Teriyaki-Glazed Norwegian Salmon — mango, avocado, tomato & toasted sesame mayo
🍄 Wild Mushroom Casarecce — porcini, pecorino & toasted pine nuts
🍎 Apple & Vanilla Tarte Tatin — crème fraîche ice cream

And that’s just a taste of what was served. ✨

When we’re not preparing weddings, corporate events, or gourmet braais, you’ll often find us here — by the ocean, rod in hand, enjoying a slower pace and letting nature do the talking.
