We Are Hiring!: WordPress & WooCommerce Specialist

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cape Town. The specialist will build, customize, and maintain our WordPress website and WooCommerce store, ensuring a fast, secure, and user-friendly experience. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring themes and plugins, managing product catalogs and pricing, optimizing site performance, and implementing SEO best practices. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, integrating payment gateways and booking or rental systems, and collaborating with internal teams to update content, promotions, and studio offerings. The specialist will monitor analytics, maintain backups, and ensure that the site aligns with brand standards and supports business growth.

Qualifications:
- Strong WordPress expertise, including theme customization, child themes, and plugin configuration.
- Hands-on WooCommerce experience, including product setup, variations, inventory, pricing, and checkout configuration.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript) for UI tweaks and bug fixes.
- Experience with site performance optimization, caching, image optimization, and responsive design.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, on-page optimization, and basic analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console).
- Familiarity with payment gateways, security best practices, backups, and basic DNS/hosting management.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certification or diploma in web development, computer science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also considered.
- Experience with e-commerce for rentals or bookings and interest in photography, video, or film production is a plus.
