Somewhere between the mist and the memory of summer, something new was taking shape at Acorn.

And now it's here. 💦🍉

A pool — still and quiet, holding the whole Highveld sky in its surface. Waiting for the warm afternoons that always find their way back to us.

For now, the fires are lit and winter has the farm. But when summer comes — and it always does — this is where you'll be. Barefoot on the grass. The children laughing in the water. The light going golden and slow over the fields.

From viewing to I do — THE TASTING 🤍

A few weeks after a couple says yes to the farm, they come back to us a little differently. Less nervous. More curious.

Because today isn’t just about the venue — it’s about the food!

The tasting is one of the days we love most.

Our in-house chef, Anna, sits down with each couple — not with a fixed menu, but with a blank page. She asks the things a set menu rarely does. What did your grandmother cook that you still think about? What tastes like home? Is there a meal that’s special between the two of you — a little detail we could add to make it your own?

Because at Acorn, it’s the details that matter.

When it arrives at the table, it comes the way it will on the day — served family-style, big platters passed from hand to hand, everyone reaching in, no one standing on ceremony. It’s warm and generous and a little bit noisy. It feels like a family table, because that’s exactly what it is. What it should be.

Tasted slowly, adjusted together, until the feast isn’t ours anymore. It’s yours.

Most couples arrive at the tasting still a little worried about the food. Almost none of them leave that way.
