For those of you that know me, you’ll know that Mozambique has such a special place in my heart.
It’s the place that feels most like home to me.
There’s just something about this place. The people, the culture, the simplicity of life, the ocean, everything about it feels special. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve been there yourself.
And if you’ve ever had the privilege of going to Mozambique, then you’ll know about the pão.
Every little town you drive through, there are people selling fresh bread on the side of the road. Warm pão straight from the oven. And you know it’s baked fresh every single day because 24 hours later, even the knife starts struggling.
While on holiday in this little slice of paradise, we came across a local bakery making pão and I just had to go inside.
Ash & I ended up joining the chefs in the bakery, standing around the old wood fired oven watching them make the most incredible bread.
No fancy setup. Just proper old school baking, done the way it’s always been done.
The smell, the heat from the ovens, the fresh bread coming out nonstop, it was one of those moments where you just stop and appreciate how special simple things can be.
There really is nowhere quite like Mozambique.
If you know, you know.
