Great Heart Wines is an independently registered company founded by Chris and Andrea Mullineux during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 to enhance the livelihoods of its shareholders. It is a 100% staff-owned company, with equal shareholders comprising all permanent employees at Mullineux Winery in the Swartland, as well as Leeu Passant Winery in Franschhoek, who have been employed for two or more con

secutive years. The company is collectively owned by the office, warehouse, vineyard, and winery staff, and a portion of all Great Heart wine sales profits is distributed directly to them. The wines truly represent their place of origin and the people who call it home.

We’re delighted to share the 2023 vintage of Great Heart Cabernet Franc, now available to shop online.

After a favourable winter replenished the soils in Franschhoek, a long and even ripening season gave the fruit time to develop with beautiful poise.

This vintage carries everything we love about Cabernet Franc: expressive aromatics, effortless drinkability, and a clear sense of where it comes from.

As our winemaker, Gynore Hendricks, shares: “Having earned a loyal following since its first release in 2021, we anticipate this vintage will be as big a hit across South Africa and abroad.”
