We let one of our smallest, waddling tour guides take the lead this morning. 🦆

From a leisurely stroll through the garden to a refreshing morning swim, we simply followed along. Life on the farm has a way of reminding us to slow down and enjoy the little moments.

Happy birthday, Zoey! Today calls for sunshine, a little time in the water and plenty of attention from the herd.

Zoey is one of our much-loved water buffalo at Rietvlei, the lower part of the farm that is home to our animals. Earlier this year, she welcomed two healthy bull calves and has taken beautifully to motherhood. At her peak, she produced an impressive 14.7 litres of milk a day – more than double the herd average of 6 litres.

She’s also very fond of attention – call her name and she’ll come over to greet you!

Here’s to another year on the farm, surrounded by good company and wide-open spaces.

Babylonstoren Minute 6 September 2026

This week, the beauty of the farm is in the details: sheets drying in the wind at Soetmelksvlei, chickens contemplating their next bite, and tomatoes so beautiful they look like a work of art.

The days are growing warmer, the garden is soaking up more sunshine, and there’s no better time to pick up a scoop from our Gelato Room. Then, wander beneath the trees, follow the winding garden paths and discover what's in bloom.

The press conference nobody knew they needed.

Faf and Tjokkie are back at the podium ahead of the third game in the series, ready to discuss form, strategy and, most importantly, who’s bringing the snacks.

The tension is building. The jerseys are on. And the two most unlikely rugby analysts at Babylonstoren have their say.

Spring doesn’t arrive all at once at Babylonstoren. It unfolds blossom by blossom until the garden is brimming with new growth.

The Garden in Bloom Escape, available from 1 September until 30 November, is an invitation to pause and embrace the season from the comfort of the Farm Hotel.

Wake each morning to an abundant breakfast at Babel, where the menu is written by what is ripe and ready in the garden, then set out on a private guided garden tour to see what is flourishing. The package also includes one complimentary two-course dinner per person at Babel, where the farm’s produce dresses for dinner and the season’s hero ingredients take pride of place at the table. The following morning, there’s no need to rush: late checkout is included, subject to availability.

At Babel Restaurant, every meal begins in the garden.

Set within the farm’s original cow shed, Babel brings together Cape Dutch architecture, contemporary design and a menu inspired by the seasons. Guided by our farm-to-fork philosophy, each dish celebrates the freshest ingredients from the garden, our wider working farm and the surrounding region.

Join us for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and experience the flavours of the farm in every bite.

Booking is essential. Reservations open nine months in advance via the link in our bio.
