Happy Heritage Day South Africa!
We are immensely proud to be a part of our nation’s rich tapestry of stories.

This Heritage Day, we wanted to share a story and part of what makes us, us.

The opening of Haute Cabrière Cellar in 1994 included a special guest appearance and blessing from Philip Drew-Jourdan, a direct descendant of the French Huguenot, Pierre Jourdan, who owned this same land in the 17th century.

We held the official opening ceremony for our cellar on 21 December 1994, exactly 300 years after Pierre Jourdan was granted the deed to the Cabrière farm in 1694, which he named after his home village in France.

Our Cellar Master’s choice is the Arnim Family Réserve. It’s bold, it’s one of a kind in South Africa, it’s inspired by an ancient w**emaking practice reimagined for a modern world, and because it’s a Syrah-Pinot Noir blend, it has a great profile to enjoy with your steak, chops, boerie, pap, and biltong.
