Our award winning extra virgin olive oil is pressed and bottled on Auberge Clermont from olives grown in the Franschhoek Valley. Only carefully selected, healthy Frantoio and Leccino olives, gathered in their prime as they begin to ripen and milled without delay, are used to prepare this peppery and delicately fruity oil.

We try not to feel too despondent when a visitor gallops straight past our gates...

But in Franschhoek, we understand - there are many beautiful places that feel like home.

One of the joys of staying here is sharing the valley with its wild residents. Keep your eyes open; you never quite know who might pass by.

There’s something lovely about seeing a place you know so well captured on paper.

Our new Clermont farm map brings together the vineyards, olive groves, river, gardens and buildings that make up this little corner of the Franschhoek Valley — while also offering a glimpse of the changes and new beginnings taking shape across the farm.

For us, Auberge Clermont has always been about more than simply a place to stay. It is about experiencing the land, the quiet of the valley and the story of this very special place.

Now, we have a little map to help tell that story.

Today we raise a glass to the vines that have quietly shaped this corner of the valley for generations. 🍇

From olive grove to vineyard, this land tells its story through every season. 🌿🍇

Today, on International Chardonnay Day, we pay tribute to the 3 hectares of old vine Chardonnay that share the slopes and soil of our farm in the Franschhoek Valley.

Just as great olive oil reflects its terroir, so too does Chardonnay. These old vines have stood for decades alongside our olive trees — weathering winter rains, soaking up summer sun, and becoming part of the character of the farm itself.

There is something special about land that can nurture both vineyard and grove so beautifully. Today we celebrate that shared heritage, and the timeless elegance of old vine Chardonnay. 🥂🌿

From the same farm where our olives are grown and pressed, the rain clears to reveal a rainbow resting gently over the vineyards beside Auberge Clermont.

A quiet reminder that nature does her finest work after the storm.

Here, where guests wake to these views and olives are harvested from the same soil, beauty is simply part of the daily rhythm — in the land, in the light, and in the moments we’re lucky enough to witness. 🌈🫒

Love.

Everyone loves love.

This weekend on our farm in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, we were reminded that olive trees don’t only witness seasons — they witness stories too.

While guests stayed at Auberge Clermont, our team quietly helped one very thoughtful visitor plan a surprise that would become a lifelong memory.

In the gardens, with the mountains looking on and the farm at its most beautiful, a question was asked.

A joyful “yes” followed.

And just like that, our gardens became part of a love story.

From helping choose the perfect spot to set the scene, it was a privilege for our staff to play a small role in such a meaningful moment.

Because this farm is more than vines and olives.
It’s a place where life happens.
Where memories are made.
Where forever sometimes begins.

Congratulations to the newly engaged couple — thank you for letting our farm share in your joy. 💍✨

As the rain settles over the valley and the wintry cold seeps in, there’s a different kind of warmth waiting at Auberge Clermont.

A stay in the guesthouse, w**e made right here on the farm, and a fire quietly crackling in the background — the kind of simple comfort that feels like a small luxury on days like these.

While the weather outside may be wet and wild, the welcome is always warm, the rooms cosy, and the company inviting.

From all of us on the farm — where olives are pressed and w**e is poured — come in from the cold, settle by the fire, and enjoy a glass of Clermont Vineyards w**e in good company. 🍷🔥

Under the recent full moon, we walked the grove and let nature lead.

This year, we chose not to rush the harvest, but to listen — to the trees, the season, and the quiet rhythm of the land. Moving gently through the orchard in search of the first ready fruit, we found our Leccino olives waiting for us, their time having come.

Over the coming weeks, we will harvest in small, thoughtful batches, allowing our Frantoio — the heart of our grove — to reveal itself slowly, as it ripens in its own time.

By following the cues of nature rather than the calendar, our oil will carry the full expression of the olive: from bright, green notes to deeper, rounded flavours. A true reflection of the season, the moon, and the land that grows it.
