Deon and Elna Viljoen arrived in Franschhoek with a fiery passion for fine wines and so opened Franschhoek Biltong Wine and Nuts in February 2014 with a goal to showcase the finest Franschhoek wines to tourists and locals alike. Dictated by what their customers' needs were, it soon grew into a fully functional boutique wine store, stocking the best of the Franschhoek Valley. Through daily interact
ion with every person who walked into their store, they quickly realised that not only do they need to stock wines of this valley, but also wines from surrounding valleys, stretching as far as Hermanus.
Deon and Elna has a serious connection with Franschhoek, as much as they do with the wines they sell. The Viljoen's were the first Huguenots to arrive in Franschhoek, back in 1688, firmly establishing themselves in the valley. By farming and making wine, the Franschhoek region became one of the most sought after wine regions of the world and the Huguenot Monument, standing tall in the loved town, is a daily reminder of the French Huguenot's influence on the region.
Today, Deon and Elna, wish to share that connection with their customers by bringing them wines that will not only give them a piece of the valley, but also bring out a feeling and experience that comes with drinking fine wine.
