Gordons Bay Fisheries has been undergoing some exciting changes over the past few months, and we’re now adding the final touches to our revamped seafood deli! 🐟✨

Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to create a fresh new space while keeping the same quality seafood and friendly service you know and love.

Part of those finishing touches includes our beautiful Pescado Studio fish artwork, which is also available to purchase in-store.

We’re almost ready to show you what we’ve been working on, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in to experience the new space for themselves. 🌊

A behind-the-scenes day at Gordon’s Bay Fisheries 🎣

We recently welcomed students from Institute of Culinary Arts - ICA for a closer look at what happens before quality seafood reaches the kitchen.

From handling and processing to hygiene, preparation and quality control, the students were taken through the procedures we follow every day to ensure our clients receive seafood of the highest standard.

It was a great opportunity to share our knowledge, answer questions and give the next generation of chefs a better understanding of the journey from supplier to plate.

Cape Salmon is a local favourite with firm flesh, a mild flavour and excellent eating quality. It is a versatile fish that works beautifully on the braai, grilled, pan fried, baked, or cooked whole.

Please note our retail shop is currently under renovations until 1 June. During this time, retail shop orders are available by pre order only for collection.

Some meals feel like a night out — even when you’re cooking at home.

Fresh tuna is perfect for those simple, special dinners: beautifully seared, full of flavour, and elegant without being complicated.

Simple serving idea:
Try pan-seared tuna with lemon, garlic butter, cracked black pepper, and a fresh herb salad. Sear in a hot pan for 1–2 minutes per side, keeping the centre slightly pink, then serve with roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, or a crisp salad.

🚧 Important Update from Gordons Bay Fisheries 🚧

We’re preparing for an exciting new chapter.

From 11 May to 1 June, Gordons Bay Fisheries *Retail Shop* will be closed for renovations as we expand and strengthen our wholesale operations.

As part of this transition:

Our wholesale operations will continue as normal for restaurants, chefs, caterers, and trade customers.

Our takeaway section will be closing permanently.
Walk-in retail customers and public collection orders for fresh fish & seafood will pause from 11 May and resume after 1 June.

🐟 Last chance to order before we close:
If you’d like to stock up on your favourite fresh seafood, please place your orders before 11 May.

This upgrade allows us to focus on delivering a more refined, efficient, and premium seafood experience — especially for our wholesale customers.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back in June.
