Only 2 Weeks to go until the 5th Karoo Winter Wool Festival held at Dwarsvlei Guest Farm in Middelburg, Karoo!

The Karoo is starting to hum with anticipation — in just two weeks we gather for two days of wool, weathered stories, and exciting conversation.
At the centre of this year’s festival is a speaker programme that brings the Karoo voice forward in all its forms.

On Friday 3rd July 2026 :

Boerepraaitjies, hosted by is an exciting agricultural focused speaker programme for farmers and all those interested in the future of agriculture and wool production.

The first session starts at 10:45 am - What's real and What's trending?

The second session starts 13:00 - Artificial intelligence and smart technology in wool farming.

On Friday afternoon at 16:00 we will be having our first Karoo Kraal Conversation hosted by of which will explore the entire wool value chain and the wonderful stories that emerges.

On Saturday 4th July 2026 :

Good News Programme is a new speaker programme introduced by the KWWF this year to bring local good news stories to the KWWF audience.

Our morning will start at 10:00 with Dr Johann van Rooyen who will be telling us stories of success emerging out of Molteno with the committed emerging farmers.

This will be followed by of who will be tacking us on a journey of understanding the wonders of fossils in the Karoo!

Lastly we will have a Karoo Women's panel which explores the strength and wonderful stories of 4 incredibly dynamic Karoo women.

Our final speaker panel is the Karoo Kraal Wine and Design panel hosted by Julia Buchanan of Buchanan and Co at 14:30. Julia will be exploring the curation and design of the Wool World Karoo Kraal with Vivers and Hoven.

🐐🌿 A Natural Part of the Farming Cycle

If you've noticed our goat's cheese becoming a little harder to find over the next few months, there's a good reason for it.

Our girls are beginning to dry up in preparation for kidding season. This is a natural and important part of the farming cycle, allowing them time to rest before welcoming their new kids.

As milk production slows, so will our cheese production. Over the next 2–3 months, products such as Karoo Star, Karoo Gold, Karoo Night, Karoo Sun, and Karoo Day may become more limited.

It's one of the realities of small-scale, seasonal farming — and one of the reasons every cheese is truly special.

🐐 New kids, fresh milk, and a new season of cheese-making will be here before we know it.

👉 If you have a favourite cheese, now might be the time to stock up.

🌿 A season comes to an end... 🌿

One of the beautiful things about farm-made food is that it follows the seasons.

Our Basil Pesto and Pasta Norma Sauce are made using produce grown right here on the farm, and as the seasons change, so do the ingredients available to us.

The pesto currently stocked at Your Local Pantry through Te-Water House and our other retailers is the last of this season's batch. The same goes for our Pasta Norma Sauce — once it's gone, it's gone.

Don't worry, though. We look forward to welcoming these favourites back when the season allows, hopefully around January.

In the meantime, we're excited to embrace the next season and the new products it will inspire. 🌱
