Today, on International Day for Biological Diversity, we celebrate the living systems that make farming possible.

At Dennegeur, biodiversity is not something separate from agriculture. It is part of the landscape we work in, the environment we depend on, and the future we are responsible for helping protect.

Through the Dennegeur Elgin Shale Fynbos Restoration Nursery, we work to repopulate conservation areas on the farm with indigenous flora, helping restore a critically endangered vegetation type that forms part of the unique natural heritage of the Elgin Valley.

From the soil beneath our orchards to the fynbos surrounding them, every part of the ecosystem has a role to play.

Because growing world-class apples and pears also means caring for the world they grow in. 🌿

Today, on International Day of Families, we celebrate what family means at Dennegeur.

Dennegeur is a family farm, but it is also a farm of families. From the youngest babies to the grandmas and grandpas, and everyone in between, every person forms part of the greater Dennegeur family.

Behind every season, every harvest, and every box of world-class apples and pears is our incredible team, with each person representing a family, who help make it all possible.

To everyone in our Dennegeur family, we wish you a happy International Day of Families. 💚

Today, we honour and thank nurses around the world for the care, compassion, and dedication they bring to their communities every day.

At Dennegeur, we are especially grateful for the incredible impact our nurse, Ilze van Wyk, and her assistant, Georgha van Wyk, have at the Dennicare Centre. Together, they support the health and wellbeing of the Dennegeur community. Through their kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to caring for others, they make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.

Thank you for the work you do, the comfort you bring, and the hearts with which you serve.

Today, we celebrate the people behind every part of the journey.

From the care taken in our orchards, to the hands that harvest, the precision in our packhouse, and the coordination that keeps everything moving — each role plays a part in bringing our apples and pears to the world.

Beyond production, it’s the people who shape our community through the Dennegeur Foundation too. Through care, support, and opportunity, we continue to grow something greater together.

A special thank you to the picking teams and our Production Division for putting in the necessary work today to keep up with the weather conditions. We appreciate you all! 🙌
