Several years ago while visiting the Garden Route in the Western Cape; I stumbled upon a recipe for delicious rusks in Wittedrift, a small town a few kilometres outside Plettenberg Bay. Legend has it that the Rusk recipe originated from a teacher at the Wittedrift High School. Like most South Africans, I love rusks with my coffee. t for dunking in coffee. During the last few years I made a few changes to the recipe, and added different varieties. The basic ingredients are: Wheat flour, Sugar, Wheat Bran, Sunflower seeds, Amasi, Margarine, Buckwheat, Millet, Raising Agents, Salt, Vanilla, and Lemon Juice. Wittedrift Foods are now producing the Wittedrift Health Rusks in Grahamstown, South Africa

The Wittedrift Health Rusks are available in these varieties:
• Wittedrift Original
• Wittedrift Multi-Seed – with added Poppy and Sesame seeds
• Wittedrift Lean – lower sugar and fat content
