With more than 20 years of experience in the field, we have hundreds of successful clients. Martin Fick, Managing Director of Salem Agribusiness (PTY) Ltd in Grahamstown, South Africa, established Homegrown Practical Aquaponics (HPA) in 2012 as a division of his business with the intention to design, supply and install cost effective, sustainable food production systems in the Southern African region. With a good knowledge of the Sub Saharan conditions, lifestyles and challenges, HPA strives to be the leader and preferred supplier of modular aquaponic systems, components and know-how with the goal of empowering people to produce their own healthy food. Gary Burgess joined HPA in October 2013 after a career in establishing large scale commercial aquaponics. We design for and offer support, training and mentorship to clients who have interest in personal, home-use systems or large-scale modular commercial aquaponic operations. HP Aquaponics have designed our systems, training courses, mentorship programmes and the general running of our business with the specific aim of limiting the barriers to entry and maximise return for clients, whether it be food security or economic success.
