Are you looking for mature trees for your landscaping project, greening project or farm?

Our 50 Erythrina lysistemon “Common Coral Tree” is a beautiful indigenous tree. Water wise and a great choice for landscaping and greening projects.

TreePlanting NguniNursery

As cities around the world realise the value of urban forestry and invest in major tree planting initiatives, our nursery is proud to supply trees for greening projects across the country. This morning the team was pulling trees for a client.

We wish we could see the same commitment here in the Eastern Cape. Access to trees and green spaces should not depend on where you live. In South Africa, the right to an environment that is not harmful to our health and wellbeing is in our Constitution. Clean air and access to green spaces should be part of what this means for every community.

We cannot treat Arbor Week and September as photo opportunities to plant 5L trees that are not maintained. We must stop thinking about planting trees and start thinking about growing trees.

Makhanda was once an Arbor City. We can bring that back. Our urban tree canopy is deteriorating and we need to start taking it seriously.

Let’s keep pushing our local municipalities to treat trees as the vital infrastructure they are.

Our nursery is enjoying the rain, and we are truly grateful for every drop. 🌧️🌱

This time last year, we had almost no rain, which put serious pressure on our stock and production.

With all the uncertainty around what the coming season may bring, we are simply grateful for the rain we have now and making the most of it.

One of the hardest parts of growing trees is trying to keep things as chemical free as possible. We call ourselves ethical growers because while we will step in with targeted treatments when strictly necessary, our goal is always minimal intervention. Seeing natural predators like this ladybug show up on most of our trees like this Mgeya “Afrocarpus falcatus”, makes it all worth it, proof that minimal pesticide use lets nature do what it does best. Happy Green Monday 🐞🌱

Mzansi Tree of the Year 2026

Olea africana, “Wild Olive. uMthi woMNquma.

A tree that has always held a special place among many Nguni communities and for good reason.

The Wild Olive is tough, beautiful and incredibly useful. It works just as well as a feature tree in a landscape as it does in ecological restoration, where we need indigenous trees that can handle tough conditions and help bring landscapes back to life.

One of those trees that just belongs in our landscapes.
