The little things that make up our life, these are the achievements we strive for.

Time with our kids, and our kids spending time with our angora goat kids, bottle feeding, finger nibbles, winter sun, open landscapes and time.

It has been raining baby goats and Neil the and his team have been pulling out all the stops from sunrise to sunset saving all these little souls.

A full time and a full heart. Reminders of new life and new fresh perspectives and the little things that make up a big life.

It's canola season and it's early this year! The seasons have been changing but the yellow is always a welcome light toward the end of the winter tunnel!
It's spectacular! No-one has ever looked up at the yellow fields and said they are ugly - and what that yellow hope does to the feeling and sentiment in the proverbial air!

It's also almost baby goat kidding time. We're waiting in anticipation for the first baby bokkies to pop out. Their due date was 1 August.

So if you're wanting to get some baby goat action you can still snap up one of accomodation options at the special winter and midweek rates. Email us on [email protected] directly for specials at our Goat Shed cottage or shepherd hut cabins at our campsite. And also camping.

And the Goat Farmer Neil can offer bakkie rides to check on new babies for staying guests, if weather/demands allow, as an extra service.

Just like a mother's work is never done, neither is a farmer's work ever done. Even on Sundays. Every day.

Here the goat farmer is collecting his naughty angora bokkies back into their camp. There is that old saying that if you can throw water through it (a fence), a goat can get through it. Very true! And they are always testing their boundaries. Naughty yes but also beautiful and cuddly.

The landscape is so beautiful at the moment - green and more green and some yellow starting to
show - the canola is starting to flower. Such a beautiful time of year, the rolling hills of the Overberg.

A moment of stillness before the tasks of the week pile up. Breathing it all in and giving thanks for this farm life and not a life in the city.

Someone recently said that they know Neil's a farmer but what does he do ?

A little snippet of a snippet of what he does - one of the big farming jobs is feeding our angora goats and livery horses.

Especially at the start of winter before the fodder lands (in winter we have oats growing) are ready for grazing.

Here the troops are getting barley bales from our neighbour's last year's harvest. Always planning ahead.

Reminders of keeping things simple from our Angora goats

Focus on the main things - eat, and look after your babies!

And for the Rams (!) - eat and procreate!

The big boys are doing their last jobs with the last of the ewe tail waggers and then it'll be rest time (and kid growing time) for the mammas. .The boys then salute and say their job is done and retire for the rest of the year!

We are preparing for the end of the winter and spring for little arrivals and we can't wait to get our cuddle and snuggle fix.

So funny.

Not completely true but more like 'Choosing the farm over drama and drama-mongering type of people'.

Most people we like. Like the kind ones, the nature and animal loving, open-minded ones.
