A little behind-the-scenes magic at Zwakala River Retreat. 🌿🧺🤍

There is so much love and hard work that goes into making our little cottages feel like home. From freshly washed linen to beautifully made beds, every little detail takes time, care and a whole lot of heart.

Loads and loads of laundry, endless beds to make, cottages to clean and all the little things that often go unseen but make such a difference to every guest who stays with us.

We are SO grateful for these women, for their hard work, their dedication and the love they pour into what they do.

Thank you, Ruthie and Petunia, for making Zwakala such a beautiful place to stay. You are such a special part of our farm family! 🥹❤️

This year Zwakala Brewery celebrates ten years of awards, collaborations, music, gatherings and wonderfully spontaneous mountain moments.

The name means “come closer”, and perhaps that says everything. Come closer to the fire, the music, the people, the food, the conversation... and, of course, another cold Zwakala b**r.

In the new Spring edition of Mountain Getaways, we look back on ten years of a brewery that has become woven into the fabric of Magoebaskloof.

This… and nowhere else to be. 🌿🛁🍷

A long bath. A glass of w**e. The river in the background, birds in the trees, and absolutely nowhere you need to be.

Spring is starting to show herself on the farm and it feels like the perfect time to escape to the mountains — slow mornings, river swims, forest walks, fires in the evenings and baths with a view. 🌱✨

We have a few cabins & cottages available this weekend (4th-7th September) and then we’re fully booked for the following weekend and then the next 7 weekends! So if you’ve been thinking about a little Zwakala getaway… this is your chance.
