We are a boutique wine farm in the Hemel-en-Aarde, that produce high quality award winning wines and The dream is now a reality.

Domaine des Dieux - Place of the Gods - began as a dream, after many visits to Burgundy and a love that developed for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Champagne. In 2002 we bought a small 28 ha farm, nestled in the foothills of the highest mountain peak in the Hemel-en-Aarde - Babylonstoren, and made sure it lent itself to the growing of premium Pinot noir and Chardonnay, amongst other cultivars that we

re carefully chosen & matched to terroir. Over the past decade we have established ourself as a boutique cellar that produces small volumes of superior award winning wines. Our portfolio currently consists of 6 wines, with our Flagships being our 2 MCC's Rose of Sharon and Claudia, as well as our Josephine Pinot Noir. The rest of the range is made up with an award winning Chardonnay and aged Sauvignon Blanc.

As we welcome the New Year and reflect on the festive season just passed, we’d like to take a moment to say thank you.

📖 𝐆𝐢𝐆𝐢 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐢 𝐒𝐞𝐜 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐕
One of the most recent additions to our range, GiGi is a nectar Demi-Sec meaning she carries more sweetness than anything we’ve crafted before. But true to the Domaine des Dieux way, she was never meant to be just sweet. Winemaker Megan spent much time perfecting the balance: a Demi-Sec that greets you with lush fruity sweetness, yet finishes crisp, fresh, and almost dry on the palate - the perfect sweet spot.

Like all our Cap Classiques, her name carries a legacy. GiGi was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately nicknamed “GiGi” (great-granny) by her doting great-grandchildren. She embodied joie de vivre - the kind of woman who started her meals with dessert, who laughed often, and who made life sparkle. A nectar could not have been more fitting to honour her spirit.

Sweet but never simple, GiGi is the playful chapter of our tale. With hints of honey, ripe peaches, and soft brioche, she brings light-hearted joy to the collection.

The second Cap Classique to join our range in its maiden 2007 vintage, Rose of Sharon has always been a story of beauty and refinement. By 2016, after extensive research into the effects of light strike, this elegant salmon-hued Rosé found its forever home in a green bottle, ensuring consistency and protecting the purity of its flavour.

She takes her name from an ancient love story. In the Song of Solomon, love is captured through the comparison to the Rose of Sharon, a flower that blooms only after rainfall, blanketing the dunes of the Plain of Sharon in exquisite beauty. It is this imagery that has inspired our Celebration of Love - our Rose of Sharon.

A tale told in blush tones, Rose of Sharon is both delicate and powerful. Expect strawberries, pomegranate, and rose petals carried on fine bubbles, enriched by extensive lees ageing for food-friendly complexity and lasting elegance. It’s a chapter that lingers, leaving you yearning for more.

The very first Cap Classique in our range, Claudia debuted as a maiden 2006 vintage and quickly became the bubbly that made Domaine des Dieux synonymous with quality, excellence, and celebration. Today, she remains our best-selling Cap Classique.

Named as a tribute to the eldest daughter in our family, the first born, Claudia embodies life’s milestones, with the very first labelled bottle being served at her wedding in 2009 - a true Celebration of Life. Over the years she has marked many iconic firsts, including being the first Domaine des Dieux Cap Classique to be awarded Best Cap Classique in South Africa 🏆

Fresh, refined, and endlessly elegant, Claudia is the heroine of our story. With notes of crisp apple, zesty lemon, and a delicate biscuity finish, she captures the essence of Cap Classique: timeless, graceful, and ready to elevate any occasion. The newly released 2016 Rosé of Sharon - now in a dark bottle with a striking new label. The reason behind our changes is to further our focus on premium Cap Classique, and this simple change is an important step in our commitment to age-worthy wines. Clear glass may catch the eye, but it does little to protect the wine over time. A darker bottle allows it to evolve as it should, preserving its character for years to come. As we pride ourselves on our older vintages and ageability of our Cap Classique - the decision to change bottles was an easy one.

For a wine that’s always been made with patience, this just made sense. We can’t wait for you to be the first to experience the newest chapter of Rosé of Sharon.
