One pot of mince. One pot of pap. One hearty family meal. ❤️

Looking for a simple, comforting meal that brings the family around the table? Try this delicious Monate Pap & Mince Bowl. Soft, warm pap topped with savoury mince in a rich tomato gravy.

👩‍🍳 Method

1. Prepare the pap: Bring the water and salt to a boil. Gradually stir in the Monate Super Maize Meal. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and cooked. Add butter or margarine if desired.

2. Prepare the mince: Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion until soft. Add the mince, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned.

3. Add the flavour: Add the tomatoes, tomato paste and spices of choice. Then add the water. Simmer for 10–15 minutes until the mince is cooked and the sauce has thickened.

4. Serve: Spoon warm pap into a bowl, top generously with the savoury mince and tomato gravy, and finish with fresh parsley. 🌽

Simple ingredients. Big flavour. A meal made for sharing.
