World Milk Day forms part of our commitment to corporate social investment, with a focus on child nutrition and early childhood development in our local communities. We believe that investing in our children is investing in a brighter future for everyone.

This year, we supported Mzingisi Primary School and Masikhule Crèche in KwaNomzamo, Humansdorp, by donating First Choice Milk to their young learners.

Menstrual Hygiene Day is an important moment in South Africa and around the world to address period poverty, challenge stigma, and promote healthy menstrual hygiene management, so that women and girls can manage their periods with dignity and have access to the resources they need.

Woodlands Dairy supports sustainable beekeeping in the Eastern Cape by partnering with Infinite Industries and Botes Honey Farms to manufacture sustainable, durable beehives from recycled Tetra Pak® liquid board packaging.

These upcycled, honey-badger-resistant hives, which maintain the same temperature as wooden ones, promote bee health while reducing landfill waste.

We source our First Choice Honey from resident beekeepers in the Eastern Cape, focusing on 100% pure, "choice grade" honey harvested from indigenous flora 🐝

A cow doesn’t actually have four separate stomachs; it has one stomach with four distinct compartments: the rumen, reticulum, omasum and abomasum.

This specialised system allows cows to break down tough plant fibers through fermentation, re-chew their cud for better digestion and efficiently absorb vital nutrients.

The rumen alone can hold up to 190 liters and acts as a powerful fermentation chamber. It's filled with microbes that help digest grass and silage, making every single bite count.
