When classes pause during summer holidays in Gauteng, South Africa, basically in December and January, Marodi House transforms into the base for immersive heritage tours and festive adventure activities across Gauteng. This programme that blends safety and comfort with experiential travel appeal is designed specifically for Southern African youth of all backgrounds, offering them a chance to explore, learn, and connect with the rich tapestry of Basotho history and culture.
The tours focus on educating African youth about Basotho history, with a special emphasis on the settlements, artefacts, and wars that shaped their presence in Gauteng before, during, and after the eras of colonization and apartheid. Highlights include visits to renowned museums and historical sites, such as the Voortrekker Monument, where participants can engage with the stories and artefacts central to Basotho heritage. This educational journey is complemented by festive adventure activities, ensuring both learning and enjoyment.
