Over the past years we have been exporting and delivering food to small restaurants and hotels in Johannesburg and Botswana. We have developed a collection of suppliers whose products we feel are superior in taste and quality. Most are local (Gauteng) producers but we do also deal directly with fisheries in Namibia and importers of Italian and French fine fare. Looking at the rapid pace of food in
flation at most retailers we decided to do a costing exercise to see what our price points looked like. We come at at between 3% and 54% cheaper on various food items such as cold meats, fish, a selection of cheeses, nuts and frozen berries. In order to get these prices, we need to supply in the same pack size that we sell to restaurants. This offering would therefore be good for large families, guest houses, school tuck shops and catering businesses. We are looking to expand our business and would like to make these savings available to you!
