Some people dance in the rain! Beekeepers dance in trekking swarms 🌻🐝Bees, when swarming (splitting off queens for new hive sites) are not aggressive at all! Just a gentle hum. It's hugely inspiring.

Ever wondered what a Queen Bee looks like? 🐝😊

This queen has been ethically marked with the international queen marking colour system. Blue = queens born in 2025.

The beekeeping practice of marking queens, among other reasons, is primarily used for easily spotting her again upon the next hive colony inspection.

Imagine looking for 1 slightly more orange bee in a hive of 30 000 yellow and black bees 🧐😳 The human eye is much better suited to look for that blue dot.

Looking for queens in a hive is like Where's Wally game but much more challenging. The picture constantly moves!
