I am deeply humbled and inspired to share a heartfelt letter from Chef Donaldson Madubela, who recently represented South Africa at the Global Chefs’ Competition.
His sincerity and humility reflect the true spirit and nobility of our chef community.
This is only the beginning of many great milestones ahead. I encourage all chefs to embrace opportunities for growth, development, and international exposure. Equally important is the responsibility to pay it forward through mentorship—nurturing the next generation of culinary talent.

Dear Chefs and Mr. President,
Hope this mail find y’all well. I know its late but rather be late than never
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your generous support during Global chefs’ competition, your support is not just a gift, but a significant investment in the future of our chefs in this country and a beacon of hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Please know that your involvement extends beyond the tangible benefits provided. You offer hope and encouragement. I will always express joy and gratitude knowing there is chefs like you rooting for anyone success.
Thank you once again for choosing me and believing that I can go and represent the country in Global chefs’ competition. There so much to take away from this competition, from day 1 till the end, I’ll take all that I’ve learned and surely pass it to the next generation. Mentors do make a huge difference
