Crosse & Blackwell is a well-known brand whose British roots go back as far as 1706 when it traded under the Jackson brand and then as West and Wyatt. In fact, according to the South African Advertising Research Foundation's AMPS study (2007), it was voted the 3rd brand most personally consumed in South Africa after Coca-Cola and Clover. Testimony to the brand's success is that the brand footprint now extends beyond the SA borders into neighbouring states and rest of Africa. In 2009, the brand was acquired by Tiger Food Brands and continues to be the market leader.
