This Women’s Month, we celebrate women like Khayelihle Mnisi, Production Manager – HPC Isando, who are helping shape the future of manufacturing and cultivate and nourish more lives, every day and every tomorrow at Tiger Brands.

With three years at Tiger Brands and a career spanning SHER, production and business unit leadership, Khayelihle has learnt that strong leadership is about more than delivering results. It is about creating an environment where people can grow, perform at their best and feel confident enough to step into new opportunities.

“Leadership isn’t just about how high you rise, it’s about how many people you help rise with you.”

Recognised as Tiger Brands Leader of the Year in 2025, she leads with accountability, empathy and authenticity, showing that women do not have to choose between being strong and compassionate to lead effectively.

For Khayelihle, Women’s Month is also a reminder of the importance of creating space for more women to step forward, take on stretch opportunities and lead in their own way.

She is especially proud of leading teams whose work can be seen on shelves across South Africa and parts of Africa, a powerful reminder of the people behind the brands millions of consumers know and trust.

Her message to women building their careers is simple - “Don’t wait for confidence before taking the opportunity. Sometimes confidence comes after you take the step.”

As we celebrate Women's Month, honouring the remarkable women across Tiger Brands who help to cultivate and nourish more lives every day and every tomorrow, meet Rufaro Cecilia Mpofu, Group Quality and Food Safety Manager: Suppliers and Third-Party Manufacturers at Tiger Brands.

With over 18 years of experience in quality, food safety and manufacturing excellence, Rufaro leads the governance and continuous improvement of our supplier and third-party manufacturer quality and food safety, a role that protects the trust millions of consumers place in our brands every day.

"Empathy is a leadership strength. It enables us to understand people, build trust, have honest conversations and create environments in which teams perform at their best. A woman should not have to become less caring, less authentic or less feminine to be regarded as decisive and capable."

Rufaro's work strengthening our value chain, elevating supplier partnerships and building the capability of our people reflects her belief that sustainable results are achieved through people and collaboration.

As we celebrate Women’s Month and the many Tiger Brands women who help to cultivate and nourish more lives, every day and every tomorrow, meet Athini Ziyanda Ndobeni, Snacks, Treats and Beverages Category Sales and Operations Manager at Tiger Brands.

With close on four years at Tiger Brands and experience spanning the FMCG and petrochemical industries, Athini has built her career around turning complexity into opportunity across the supply chain. From demand and production planning to scheduling and supply chain optimisation, she is passionate about driving efficiency, enabling growth and delivering results in fast-paced environments.

Her journey has also shaped how she thinks about leadership. Athini challenges the idea that women need to adopt a tougher or more hardened leadership style to succeed. For her, strong leadership is about being authentic, staying resilient and creating an environment where others can contribute and grow.

“Effective leadership is not defined by toughness alone. It is strengthened by authenticity, emotional intelligence, collaboration, resilience, and the ability to inspire and empower others.”

Her advice to young women building their careers is to remain purposeful, challenge the status quo with humility and never allow fear to limit their potential.

“Nothing is impossible when your purpose is stronger than your doubts.”

This Women’s Month we celebrate the many Tiger Brands women who work to cultivate and nourish more lives, every day and every tomorrow. Meet Maria Dimakatso Ramokgadi, Bakery Manager at Tiger Brands Secunda.

Maria’s journey in manufacturing began as an administrator before she progressed to Admin Manager and, after 15 years of determination, hard work and gaining experience across different departments, became a Plant Manager at Nampak Packaging.

Today, as Bakery Manager, she brings that experience and passion for leading people to Tiger Brands.

For Maria, leadership is about purpose, empathy and creating opportunities for others. One of the defining moments in her career was challenging the status quo by appointing women into roles traditionally dominated by men, including technicians and machine operators.

She believes emotional intelligence is a strength in leadership, helping leaders build trust, understand their teams and create environments where people feel safe to learn, innovate and grow.

“Leadership is not about being bossy or perfect. It is about listening, solving problems and guiding the team with kindness. Empathy goes a long way.”

Across Tiger Brands, 28 teams nationwide stepped up to make a meaningful difference in the communities around them. Their efforts reached learners, early childhood centres, people experiencing homelessness and rehabilitation communities through practical support delivered with dignity, care and compassion.

Together, these actions show what is possible when Tigers unite behind a shared purpose: creating positive change, uplifting communities and nourishing lives, every day and every tomorrow.

This August, we gathered as Tigers to commemorate Women's Month under the profoundly resonant theme, "Building Resilient Economies for All." It was far more than a ceremonial occasion; it was a defining moment of honest reflection and electrifying conversation.

We honoured the legacy of those who marched before us while confronting the challenges that still lie ahead. Embracing the spirit of "Give to Gain," our discussions were charged with purpose, progress, celebration and unity, each voice contributing to a collective resolve to empower, champion, and accelerate the representation of women across our business and beyond.

The energy was not merely felt; it was transformational, sparking new commitments and deepening our shared accountability for continuing to take further targeted actions to create an inclusive environment where women continue to thrive, grow and innovate.

At the very core of this enduring movement is our Tiger Women's Network. This is not another forum or passing initiative; it is a living, breathing community of fierce, vibrant, and driven women and men forged on the principle of each one teaching one and each one supporting another.

Its immeasurable value lies in creating authentic bonds of allyship, surfacing hidden potential, and nurturing a culture where every woman feels seen, heard, and valued. That is precisely why this network continues to expand and create impact, not because it is mandated, but because it is powered by the generosity, resilience, and lived experiences of our people.

It stands as a beacon of what we can achieve together, ensuring that every Tiger can flourish, innovate, and lead with unwavering confidence as we cultivate and nourish lives, every day and every tomorrow.

Our Learning and Development team took the opportunity to bring forward the benefits of LinkedIn Learning through a dedicated launch, designed to encourage a culture of continuous learning and purposeful development across the business.

The launch highlighted how LinkedIn Learning modules can support individuals, departments and business units by strengthening skills, closing capability gaps and keeping teams informed of the latest industry trends and developments relevant to their portfolios.

More importantly, the launch reinforced that learning is not only about completing courses. It is about equipping our people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to adapt, innovate and contribute meaningfully to the future of our business, while creating opportunities for growth, collaboration and long-term career development.

Through our partnership with Fibre Circle and Greener Pastures, we are helping young people turn environmental awareness into action through the Zithande Mzansi Green Schools Programme, from a piece of paper to a poem, discarded packaging to art, and collecting waste to creating change.

On 5 August, we celebrated the creativity, determination and environmental leadership of learners from five schools across Katlehong and Vosloorus: Ikusasalethu Primary School, Katlehong Primary School, Manzini Primary School, Polokegong Primary School and Umtholo Primary School.

Through the Voices for the Planet Poetry, Waste-2-Art and Collect, Recycle and Win competitions, learners explored responsible waste management, recycling, environmental stewardship and the opportunities within the circular economy.

Congratulations to all the participating schools and learners, and to the winners across the three competitions. Your voices, creativity and actions show that meaningful change can start with something as simple as a piece of paper.

At Tiger Brands, we are proud to support initiatives that empower young environmental ambassadors to create cleaner, greener communities and help cultivate and nourish lives, every day and every tomorrow.

This Women’s Month, we honour the courageous women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956, challenging injustice and helping shape a more equal South Africa. Seventy years later, their legacy continues to remind us that progress is built through courage, unity and collective action.

This year’s theme, “Building Resilient Economies for All,” speaks to the vital role women play in strengthening businesses, communities and economies. At Tiger Brands, we see this every day in the women who lead, innovate, create, solve and inspire across our factories, offices, brands and communities, helping us cultivate and nourish lives, every day and every tomorrow.

Our commitment goes beyond Women’s Month. Through the Tiger Women’s Network, we are strengthening connection, mentorship, leadership development, allyship and inclusion, creating a platform where women can share experiences, amplify their voices and support one another to grow and thrive.

As One Team Tiger, we all have a role to play in creating a workplace where every woman has the opportunity to lead, contribute and realise her potential.

Happy Women’s Month.
