A Harvest of Joy
In the economy of Zion, nothing is wasted. Every tear you shed in the place of prayer, every groaning of travail, every act of obedience in pain, they are all legal tender in the Spirit. And the covenant of God demands that such transactions must yield. “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy” (Psalm 126:5).
But the intelligence of the Spirit is this: your harvest is not merely material. A job may come, a home may come, restoration may come, but the substance of the harvest is joy. Joy is the atmosphere of Zion, Joy is the verdict of heaven that the Spirit of Glory rests upon you. It is joy, not happiness, that constitutes the strength of the believer.
This is why the Scripture says, “With joy shall you draw water out of the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3). Joy is both the posture for receiving and the product of what you receive. Without joy, the wells remain shut, though full. With joy, access is granted. So, don’t misread your tears. Those nights of labor were not wasted; they were seeds sown into eternity.
Consider this: The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, (Psalm 97:5), so what then is your pain in His presence? That suffering is but a womb, and what it will birth is glory. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed” (Romans 8:18).
The blessing of the Lord, it makes rich, and sorrow is banished from its atmosphere (Proverbs 10:22). The proof that your harvest has come is that sorrow begins to break, and joy begins to flood your climate.
So I announce by the Spirit: the season of sowing in tears is over. Step into the economy of joy. Go forth with joy, because the harvest is here. Welcome to October, our Month of Harvest.
