MOKOTING LIQUOR RESTAURANT & GENARO EVENTS
Subject: Clarification on Mokoting Liquor Restaurant and Its Relationship with Sports & Political Organisations
The Management of Mokoting Liquor Restaurant, together with Genaro Events, wishes to formally clarify the position of the establishment following various perceptions and discussions within the Kgautšwane community.
Mokoting Liquor Restaurant acknowledges that the Orlando Pirates Supporters Branch in Kgautšwane uses Mokoting as its clubhouse and gathering venue. We respect and welcome the relationship that has been established with the branch.
However, the use of Mokoting as a clubhouse by the Pirates branch does not mean that Mokoting Liquor Restaurant is exclusively a Pirates establishment, nor does it prevent other soccer supporters' branches, organisations or community groups from using the venue.
Mokoting remains an open and inclusive establishment.
We therefore wish to make it clear that:
- The Pirates branch is welcome to continue using Mokoting as its clubhouse.
- Other soccer supporters' branches, including Kaizer Chiefs and other football clubs, are equally welcome to approach Mokoting for meetings, gatherings, game viewings and other activities.
- Mokoting is not owned or controlled by any soccer supporters' branch.
- Mokoting is not affiliated to, owned by, or controlled by any political party, including the EFF, ANC, Mayibuye, ActionSA or any other political organisation.
- Political parties, community organisations, sports organisations, businesses and individuals are welcome to approach the establishment to host lawful events and activities.
The presence of a particular branch, political organisation or community group at Mokoting should not be interpreted as Mokoting itself being affiliated with that organisation. We provide a venue where different groups can meet, socialise and conduct their activities in a respectful and lawful manner.......................
