The Friday Market at Knysna Montessori The Friday Market is an established Market in Knysna with a good vibe and where you can enjoy good f On Saturday mornings the market is cleaned.

The Friday Supper and Craft Market is an established Market trading for the past 11 years. It is co-ordinated by a team at The Knysna Montessori School and is run as the schools main fundraiser with the bar staffed by volunteer parents and school staff. The market is open from the First Friday in September to the last Friday in May each week from 4 – 8pm out of season and in season until 8:30pm. The Friday Market provides and advertised trading place which is locally and internationally supported for its ambient family atmosphere. It includes supervised parking, seating and shelter, bonfires, live music a quality craft section, a licensed bar and an amazing choice of locally produced food which may be enjoyed on the premises or at home. The grass is regularly cut, sawdust spread for damp when needed and the gardens, fields, parking and stalls maintained.

🎉 HIBERNATION IS OVER! 🎉

The winter blankets can go back in the cupboard because… WE’RE BACK! 🥳

Our Friday Market kicks off again on Friday, 4 September (weather permitting, of course! 🌦️) and we couldn’t be more excited to get the market lights glowing, the stalls buzzing and everyone together again.

We’ve got some new stalls joining us this season, familiar faces returning, and Christo will be opening our first market with live music to get us into that Friday-night mood! 🎶🍔🍹

A little reminder of our market rules, because we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable evening:

🐾 No dogs are allowed at the market, as per municipal by-laws.

🍷 No outside alcohol may be brought onto the premises. Only alcohol purchased on the premises may be consumed on the premises.

🚭 All public spaces are non-smoking areas, including vapes. We do have a designated smoking area for those who need it.

Now that the serious stuff is out of the way… 😜

We’ll be packing away the fairy lights, resting the food stalls, and warming our hands around heaters until the first Friday in September!

Unfortunately, due to all the rain over the past few days, our market fields are completely waterlogged and we won’t be trading this Friday. ☔🌧️

We did briefly consider turning it into a floating market… but sadly we don’t have enough canoes, floaties, or waterproof gazebos to make it happen. And cooking with gas bottles while drifting downstream felt like a bad idea. 😂

We’ll miss seeing everyone this week, but safety comes first and we’re hoping for sunnier skies next Friday! Thank you for all the support and understanding. 💚
