To our loyal customers, we would like to thank you for all your support since the launch of our online shop.

The shop started during COVID as a support vehicle for many of our growers & like minded suppliers. We are immensely proud to say that with your support we did not have to retrench a single staff member, and could in fact create many more jobs over the most difficult months that followed the lockdown!

Besides the online store's success, we were immensely lucky that our core business also grew, so much so that we had to move premises. Growth comes at a cost. Over the past few weeks you might have noticed that we have neglected our online store. We have started to focus on the season at hand and harvest coming off.

After a sad but grateful heart we have thus decided to streamline our offering on the shop to focus on what we do best, fresh and frozen berries, and fruit with some other goodies for your smoothies.

All your other online grocery needs will still be available from some of our favorite online stores like Granadilla Eats who support local farming and like-minded small businesses.

To say thank you for your support we are offering for a limited time only a whopping 2.5kg of fresh blueberries @ only R125/box!

Here’s a tip:

Consider growing your blueberry bushes in a container in the ground. This will prevent the high acid soil you prepared for the blueberries from leaching and causing damage to the surrounding plants.

It’s finally here! Our Flow Berry machine arrived as well as the brand new cooling system for our cold room.

It was a tremendous effort by all where our Cfruit family helped install, unpack and assemble the new machinery. They even provided laughter with little Izzy sorting boxes.

Our lovely ladies were delighted to receive their new uniforms and they looked grand!

Not to mention the hundreds of freshly picked and packed blueberries sporting their new packaging.

Homemade Pear & Blueberry Crumble
Perfect for the cold weather served hot with custard.

Ingredients:
For Crumble Topping
- 125g Plain Flour
- 100g Unsalted Butter
- 75g Brown Sugar

Filling:
- 4 Ripe Pears
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
- Juice of one lemon

Recipe:
Cut soft butter into small blocks and add flower to a large mixing bowl. Rub together butter and flour to resemble breadcrumbs and roughly mix in sugar with a spoon.

Cut pears into quarters and then roughly into blocks. In a medium pot pour in water adding in cinnamon, vanilla essence and lemon juice. Stirring briefly to bring together before adding the pieces of pear.

Cook on medium heat for 35 minutes or until pears are soft. Once pears are cooked, decant filling into prepared pie dish. Add 3 tbsp of the blueberry jam in and around the pear filling.

Sprinkle over topping and bake for 35 minutes at 175 °C. For an extra crispy crumble bake under grill for an extra 5 minutes.

Homemade Blueberry & Lemon jam. With warm hints of cinnamon. Sometimes something as basic as homemade jam on toast is all you need.

Recipe:
1 kg Frozen Blueberries
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 pinch Cinnamon for heat
1/2 Lemon rind/peel

Toss everything in a big saucepan and coat the blueberries with sugar and lemon juice. Sprinkle cinnamon over and cook on a medium to low heat for 40 - 45 minutes.
