Our brewery starts its story in 1984 when Robert Morton Limited from Burton on Trent, United Kingdom, was commissioned to design and supply a classic, showpiece brewery for Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, capable of accommodating complex stepped mashing, and capable of brewing all beer styles. The brewery was manufactured, shipped to South Africa, and established in Barney’s Tavern in 19

85, where it stood on show as a working brewery for 9 years. Then, in 1993 the brewery was relocated to The World of Beer in Newtown, Johannesburg, as a working showpiece pub brewery. The brewery was then purchased by Brewhogs and completely refurbished in 2013 and re-established in Kyalami, where it stands today.

It has always been, and always will be our mission to brew classic beers in the traditional way, without the use of any artificial flavourings, colourants, finings or preservatives. We use only the best natural ingredients (organic ingredients are used whenever available) and filter our beer naturally, with primary filtration at 0ΒΊC without the use of any finings, chemicals or additives, resulting in a naturally clear and unpasteurized beer.

A famous brewer once said that you can measure the quality of a beer by its repeatdrinkability (repeat drinkability). It is our intention to create such beers, and hope that you identify such qualities in all of our beers.

At Brewhogs, we offer professional, large-scale contract brewing for batches between 2,000L and 3,000L β€” packaged into kegs, cans, or a mix of both. You can even white-label our existing beers with your own branding!

We brew with care and consistency, following proven in-house procedures and consulting with world-class master brewers when needed. Whether you’re launching your first beer or expanding your brand, we’ll help you craft something worth putting your name on.

You’ll need:
β€’ A valid liquor distribution license (proof required)
β€’ Your own 30L or 50L kegs with G-type or A-type couplers
β€’ Your own can labels (we’re happy to advise on legal requirements)

We now package in 440ml cans, with a few of our existing brands still making the transition from 330ml slender cans. Lead times are roughly 3 weeks for kegs and 4 weeks for cans. A 50% deposit secures your slot.
