Ever wondered where a pale ale gets that citrus smell? 🍊
Mostly the hops. Hops added late in the brew keep more of their aroma, and American-style hops lean citrus and pine.
A pale malt base keeps it all balanced so the hops can do the talking.
That's our American Pale Ale (5.5%), brewed in Assagay and poured at Taps on Twenty 4 in Hillcrest. Hey , citrus or pine: what do you pick up first?

LRCB B**R SCHOOL · Ep 6
What does yeast actually do?

Brewing yeast is a tiny single-celled fungus, and it does the real work. It eats the sugars from the malt and turns them into alcohol and carbon dioxide (that's your fizz). Along the way it makes flavour and aroma too: German weissbier yeast gives banana and clove notes, while American wheat b**r yeast keeps things clean.
It's a big part of why our Irish Ale and our Bohemian Pilsner taste nothing alike.

Brewed in Assagay. Poured at Taps on Twenty 4, Hillcrest.
