Located at the foot of the Soutpansberg mountain range, with deep red Hutton soils and high rainfall of approximately 1200mm yearly, the sub-tropical climate makes for the perfect growing conditions for fruit, nuts, and timber. With 200ha Avocado, 230ha Macadamia, 80ha Pecan and 1000ha Timber we employ approximately 100 permanent and up to 150 seasonal employees

As the first LEAF international demonstration farm, Springfield Farms are proud to be able to show case our crops and sustainable farming techniques in supporting the environment whilst providing the world with a quality fruit and nuts. More than 40 000 UK school children watched the video: From Tree to Trolly - The Avocado Journey, during the two week campaign, and more than 400 000 primary and secondary age children engaged with wider campaign resources for Farming Fortnight 2026. With a slow start to the bee's swarming season due to the masses of summer rain we received (2700mm for the year), their populations have picked up considerably, and they are flat-out pollinating our large Fuerte Avocado flower. Its always a sight to see with many other pollinators also busy.
