THE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE AT SILULUMANZI
3 X PLUMBERS
Department: Operations
Report to: Distribution Foreman
Location: Nelspruit Workshop
The successful applicant is required to perform the following key functions, amongst other duties:
1. Plan and prepare to perform plumbing work as per job instructions.
2. Install, remove, repair and maintain basic plumbing components, PVC, AC and ductile pipes.
3. Organise and control plumbing installation and maintenance of soil, wastewater and vent systems.
4. Maintain and repair plumbing and drainage systems.
5. Apply basic plumbing principles.
6. Repair leaking hydrants and valves.
7. Check and repair low- and high-pressure complaints.
8. Identify and mark valves.
9. Meter connection and maintenance.
10. Standby duties as required.
11. Coordinate and supervise the work of the plumbing assistant and labourers.
12. Keep records and report all plumbing work orders.
The applicant is required to have:
1. Grade 12, N3 Plumbing or equivalent NQF 5 qualification preferred.
2. Valid Code B driver’s license. (NOTE: All positions that require a valid driver’s license are subject to third-party driver testing by a registered institution)
3. 5 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
4. 2-5 years’ experience as an assistant plumber, Team leader or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
