As we move through Autumn we praise God, the great I AM, the one Who makes all things grow!
We look forward to the abundant harvest of fresh winter veggies that are soaking up the last of the Klein Karoo heat. We jump with joy at the arrival of our autumn lambs. The world is turning green as God takes out His winter colour pallet. We grow new varieties of His selection, we tinker in awe of His creativity. We ready our fields for winter oats, waiting for the God-sent rain to come.
Look for the beauty around you today, so God may show you His hand in it.

We are launching an exciting event called the Monthly Homesteader’s Meetup, which will take place on the last Saturday of every month. We invite you to join us for the first one this Saturday from 14:00 - 16:00 The Barn on 62.

Why should you attend? This is your opportunity to gain the know-how and skills required to become , , and part of a of like-minded people. More specifically, here’s what you’ll get out of it:

Build a economy: We have a table for bartering where you can accept or decline offers made on your products/services.

/ exchange: Swop seeds to increase heirloom diversity (NO GMO's ALLOWED).

Meet fellow : Share , , and tips, and make new self-sufficient friends.

Updates on local projects: Get involved in local projects that matter to you to help build the community you want.

Build a supplier network: Buy bulk produce or barter directly with fellow homesteaders.

Build competencies and upskill: Education is a core component of each session to ensure you do everything as efficiently as possible.

Save money: Learn from other people's expensive mistakes or where to source material at lower costs.

Have the time of your life: There’s nothing like connecting with people who just get you and who you can learn from, so come have some wholesome fun!

Coram Deo Homestead veggie boxes are starting again this week.

It's been a unique growing experience for our Homestead this winter. We've lost our harvests week after week, due to frost, rain, insects etc.

It's a challenge to stay passionate about your work when setbacks become more common than success.

We took this challenge by working to change our perspectives.

Every mishap is not a crop lost, not money down the drain, but necessary lessons which we were fortunate enough to learn on a small scale.

A good friend talked to us about the importance of sharing your losses with the community, in order to create a more honest picture of what it takes to be self sufficient and profitable at the same time.

Another good response to losses is a mindset of abundance. If you fail, identify the reason and plant even more the next time around. Trust yourself to learn at the same pace as vegetables grow and you'll find a sustainable pace.

Our spring seedlings are a few weeks away from transplant and a steady supply of root-crops and late season winter vegetables are already in the ground.

We're building to a consistent supply of fresh, local, regenerative produce which benefits the whole community.

There will be a lot of ups, and a few less downs this year on our way to making a lasting difference.

We'd like to thank each and every one of you for your support, patience and consistent excitement for what is to come.🙌🏻🍅🫑🌽🥒🌶️🥬🥦🌼

First Romanesco BrocoFlower of the season.

This interesting plant falls under the Brassica group of veggies. Some see it as a cousin to Brocolli and Cauliflower, others see it as a beautiful combination of the two.

High in Vitamin C, K and dietary fiber,it's florets are firmer than regular Brocolli and have a nutty flavour.
