Priya Glamping Update 🛠️

27.99% of the BackaBuddy campaign is now funded and the money is safely in the project account.

The chainsawmill has arrived too! I’ll go pick it up over the weekend or on Monday when I’m heading to town to the fire department to get the fire permit sorted. They need to come out and inspect first before we get the permit, but we’ve done that before so it’s all just procedure.

Slow steps, but real steps.
This thing is actually happening.

Thank you to everyone who has made it possible thus far 🙏

Update on our BackaBuddy campaign 🙏

We’re still waiting for the funds to clear, but we’re at 12% now!

Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported us so far. We really appreciate it.

A few things to note:
- I’m keeping track of every donation. Your contribution will be credited toward a future stay with us.
- If you can’t come stay yourself, no problem — you can gift your credit to someone else. Just book it in your name and let us know who it’s for.
(Bookings will be for out of season)

Out of season is actually great here too. We’ve got really beautiful hikes right now because the wildflowers are out. The photo is from a hike that’s only about 10 min drive from us — it’s a straight, easy pathway that pretty much anyone can do. Not a difficult hike at all.

We’re busy with other farm work at the moment. As soon as the money clears, we’ll get the fire permit sorted. The reason the fire permit is so important is that we can’t actually start working on the site until we’ve burnt some of the invasive stuff we’ve already cleared. It’s lying there now, ready for burning, but we need the permit first.

Thanks again for the support. It means a lot 💚

Pirya Farm Glamping Campaign Update & Thank You 🙏

Thank you for the generous donations made so far. We’re at 7% of the total needed — it’s a solid start and I really appreciate it.

What meant just as much were the messages you left:
- “Keep looking up and the Lord will take your hand”
- “With love guys, stay strong”
- ❤️

I really appreciated those. They’re encouraging and kept me going this week.

Right now I’m waiting for the funds to clear into my account, which should happen sometime next week.

Once it’s in, the first steps are:
- Getting the fire permit sorted
- Starting on gates and fixing fencing — I already have the fencing materials, so donations aren’t going toward that
- Clearing invasive Black Wattle trees around the glamping site, which I’ve been working on the last two days

Huge thank you to Tim Bullen for always showing up when it really matters 🙏

Those massive pine trees came down in the storm and landed straight on our fence. Way too big for us to handle on our own.

Tim showed up, brought help, and helped us sort it out.
The fence is back up, the hounds 🐕 are secured behind the fence again, and the logs 🪵 are ready for the next project.
We can finally breathe again.

Thanks for being an awesome friend and saving the day 🌲💪

*Starting something exciting at Priya Farm! 🌿✨*

We’ve been sponsored a chainsaw mill and have storm-felled trees ready to use, so now we’re raising funds to get the tents, solar setup, and basics sorted for our glamping site.

If you can support, check out the campaign here:
https://www.backabuddy.co.za/campaign/priya-farm-glamping

If you open the campaign on BackaBuddy and tap the main photo, you can slide through to see more pictures of the project and the site.

*Quick note:* BackaBuddy has 0% platform fee. I’ve set a 5% tip for them so your donation goes to the project first, and the tip is added on top.
Target is R60,000 and donations are secure.

BackaBuddy is still verifying my account, but it’s safe to donate. Payments are secure and funds will be paid out once verification is complete — this is standard for all new campaigns.

Every bit helps, and any donation will be credited for future stays out of season.

Can’t donate? Sharing the link is just as powerful 🙏

Biodegradable and compostable films may seem like new inventions, but in fact some have been around for longer than you might think! Invented by Swiss chemist Jacques E. Brandenberger in the 1900’s, cellophane was the very first see-through packaging. It was one of the first plastics, and biod...
