Glamping site update 🔥

Burnt the biggest pile today — probably the biggest one we’ll do. From now on it’s smaller piles.

There’s still quite a bit to go, but we made serious progress today. Everything’s moving in the right direction.

If you’d like to support the build, any donation becomes credit for out-of-season stays once the site is up and running.

Thanks for all the support!

Appreciate you đź’›

Glamping Update:

Our first burn is done 🔥
Permit secured, first pile cleared today. Weather allowing, we’ll burn the next one tomorrow. Still alot more piles to go, but the site prep is well on the go.

We are at 29.66% of the total for the campaign! Thank you so much to the person who donated again — your support really means a lot. Every bit gets us closer and we’re so grateful. 🙏

First cut done 🪵

We got the chainsaw mill assembled and fired up for the first time today.

Started on Keurbooms — indigenous hardwood that nearly came down on the house’s roof in the last storm. Now it’s getting a second life as timber. Absolutely beautiful wood.

And this Husqvarna... wow. It’s a wonderful machine. Works like a dream.

Still learning, but having fun at it.

A huge THANK YOU🙏

Tannie Debbie & Uncle Bert Sousa — thank you so much for the chainsaw, chainsaw mill and oil to run it all. It’s really going to help us in so many ways. Thank you for believing in us and supporting us in such a huge way.

Oom Rudolph & Rudy Reinecke — thank you for assisting and organising to get the chainsaw to us.

Allan Robertson — thank you for letting us have the parcel sent to you and for helping out.

We’re so grateful for every single one of you. We couldn’t do this without your support.

Priya Glamping BackaBuddy Update 🔥

Fire permit bought + sawmill picked up today âś…
Inspection Friday to finalize permit, then we burn as soon as weather allows.

Too long a day in town today. Sawmill gets opened tomorrow after we sort some other pressing farm stuff — a few things to deal with before we get to the fun part.

Priya Glamping Update 🛠️

27.99% of the BackaBuddy campaign is now funded and the money is safely in the project account.

The chainsawmill has arrived too! I’ll go pick it up over the weekend or on Monday when I’m heading to town to the fire department to get the fire permit sorted. They need to come out and inspect first before we get the permit, but we’ve done that before so it’s all just procedure.

Slow steps, but real steps.
This thing is actually happening.

Thank you to everyone who has made it possible thus far 🙏

Update on our BackaBuddy campaign 🙏

We’re still waiting for the funds to clear, but we’re at 12% now!

Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported us so far. We really appreciate it.

A few things to note:
- I’m keeping track of every donation. Your contribution will be credited toward a future stay with us.
- If you can’t come stay yourself, no problem — you can gift your credit to someone else. Just book it in your name and let us know who it’s for.
(Bookings will be for out of season)

Out of season is actually great here too. We’ve got really beautiful hikes right now because the wildflowers are out. The photo is from a hike that’s only about 10 min drive from us — it’s a straight, easy pathway that pretty much anyone can do. Not a difficult hike at all.

We’re busy with other farm work at the moment. As soon as the money clears, we’ll get the fire permit sorted. The reason the fire permit is so important is that we can’t actually start working on the site until we’ve burnt some of the invasive stuff we’ve already cleared. It’s lying there now, ready for burning, but we need the permit first.

Thanks again for the support. It means a lot đź’š

Pirya Farm Glamping Campaign Update & Thank You 🙏

Thank you for the generous donations made so far. We’re at 7% of the total needed — it’s a solid start and I really appreciate it.

What meant just as much were the messages you left:
- “Keep looking up and the Lord will take your hand”
- “With love guys, stay strong”
- ❤️

I really appreciated those. They’re encouraging and kept me going this week.

Right now I’m waiting for the funds to clear into my account, which should happen sometime next week.

Once it’s in, the first steps are:
- Getting the fire permit sorted
- Starting on gates and fixing fencing — I already have the fencing materials, so donations aren’t going toward that
- Clearing invasive Black Wattle trees around the glamping site, which I’ve been working on the last two days
