We at Citu Culture Farms think that age is simply a number! Even at 56, 66, 72, and 89 years old, these priceless vintage women continue to connect with and kiss the land! Every single week, they encourage and excite us while also being receptive to learning! They are merely a source of wealth that we should all cherish. Young people, please cease bringing elderly people to homes with inadequate care. Some elderly persons may even become more sad as a result of neglect and lack of affection. They belong there because mother nature needs them. Bring them over so we can give them some gardening advice as part of our weekly

In farming, preparation is essential! Schedule the procurement of your farming supplies, such as seedlings, equipment, compost, and seeds. If you are unable to purchase seedlings, cultivate your own and sow them one month before to the scheduled transplanting date! Remember that since markets and other factors change over time, timing is crucial in farming. We are actively growing seedlings to sell to other farmers in the interim.

It's unfortunate that people want to reap what they didn't sow or put the effort to develop a backyard garden. One of our farmers had unwelcome guests who helped themselves to free beetroots. The fact that the farmer is completely discouraged and considering giving up farming is what hurts me the most. Overnight, a lot of beetroot disappeared! "Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened," the Bible says. Let's not destroy other people's dreams for our own egotistical, shortsighted benefit.

We don't transplant carrots, to all farmers, gardeners, and novices! It is disheartening to witness individuals who have never planted and harvested a carrot giving incorrect advice. This is not the place for textbook theory. Avoid burning your fingers needlessly. We'll be discussing carrot growing next week.

Earthworm farming/vermiculture.

The most devoted soil stewards are earthworms. In order to consume all the organic materials and restore the soil structure that forms the basis of a fruitful soil, they work the soil day and night. 'Castings' of nutrients that are high in macronutrients are made from recycled organic waste. When earthworms can provide you with castings to increase the fertility of your soil and earthworm tea or juice, which is a natural insecticide, don't fall for the falsehoods of industrial farming and contaminate your soil with chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers! We provide eco-friendly, low-cost, or free options in agroecology. This season, pray, find the earthworm spirit, and preserve the precious soil for next generations.

Most, if not all, of these multibeetroot cultivars will vanish in the near future. GMOs and hybrids are rapidly taking over all accessible farming soils. Heirloom seeds are our only hope. Our ancestry, identity, and independence are all rooted in seeds. We lose our existence and identity if we lose them. Are you surprised that some of us have varied body reactions to these meals whereas our great-parents never had allergies, did they? We must retrace our steps and determine where we went astray in terms of our understanding of the food system and health. Our seeds were lost.
Oddly enough, a kilogram of hybrid or GMO seeds costs so much that farmers are forced to take out loans, and some of them never even make a profit. Another subject on a different day. In order for future generations to have a substantial portion of this priceless history, we are harvesting and preserving our heirloom seeds. These are not merely seeds or food; rather, they are wholesome food for the body, mind, and spirit. Farms with sense

Planting maize isn't just dropping seeds into the ground, it's a strategy, you want results then start smart. Use strong disease resistant seeds, hybrid or improved they don't play games. Spacing very important, leave 75cm between rows and 25cm between holes, why?? So your maize won't fight for space and nutrients, sow two or three seeds about 3 to 5cm deep, not too shallow to dry out, not too deep to suffocate and please don't wait for magic. Apply your first weeding and fertilizer within two weeks after planting, maize loves loamy soil in the early rains, not water logging or swampy land. If you do it right, your maize won't just grow, it will thrive, so don't farm for farming sake, farm with sesnse

History will be quite critical of a society that does not cherish its youth! The majority of young people in high school spend their weekends abusing drugs and alcohol or attending parties that fail to transform their life in any way! How can we engage or inspire youth at such a key juncture and encourage them to take initiative in spite of peer pressure? We cannot alter everything; we cannot alter the entirety of South Africa, Soweto, or Orange Farm, but we think that if we can alter 10% of 100%, at least we could have made a difference in the world. If I could alter someone's way of life, my soul will be at peace when the time comes. Life isn't just about taking care of yourself; consider someone who would benefit from mastering how to farm and earn a living instead of being avaricious. The truth is that instead of sitting on the streets because they lack the necessary skills, we need these young people in our mainstream economy! 'We Thank You' to everyone who utilizes the same
