Our Pinotage vines were planted in 1999 on Ricter 99 rootstock, a drought-tolerant, phylloxera-resistant workhorse suited to the Voor Paardeberg’s dry summers. The vines are clones 45 & 48, among the original selections made for South African Pinotage. Over 25 years, the vines have settled into the site & regenerative focussed farming keeps them healthy.

Walked the vines with Catherine Marshall W**es Jonathan Oxenham & Braam Gericke fresh off her Tim Atkin MW Discovery win, talking through what Voor Paardeberg fruit can really do in the right hands - credit to Henry Ernest Ernie Manuel with Braam Gericke looking after the vines now.
