If you're already thinking about corporate gifts this year, here's a perfect option with a more meaning than a branded hamper.

The Kruger Carnivore Case is six w**es, Platter's 4 to 4.5 star and Tim Atkin 90+, worth over R1,800, for R995. R600 of that goes straight to the SANParks Honorary Rangers for carnivore conservation in Kruger, in partnership with the Endangered Wildlife Trust. We take no margin on it. The rest simply covers getting the case to your door.

The lion population in northern Kruger has dropped 63% since 2005, largely to targeted poaching. Cheetahs have lost 90% of their historic range across Africa. Fewer than 6,600 African wild dogs remain anywhere on Earth. Thirty GPS collars are needed to monitor lions in the highest-risk parts of northern Kruger, and your case helps fund the purchase of these collars. Each collar gives rangers two years of real-time tracking on a pride, and one collared lion protects the whole group around it. We're at 15 collars funded and counting.

This year carries extra meaning too: Kruger's 100th anniversary, the SANParks Honorary Rangers' 60th year of service, and our own 20th harvest.

We focus on benchmark heritage varieties such as Chenin Blanc and Pinotage, alongside expressive Cape blends, and Mediterranean cultivars well suited to the country’s climate. Guillermo leads one of South Africa's only truly free-ranging wild dog packs, through the Waterberg, a patchwork of game reserves, hunting farms, livestock farms and community land where support for wild dogs shifts from one fence line to the next. Holding a pack together across that kind of terrain takes a particular kind of leader much like Guillermo.

Our W**e and Wild Dog Weekends, run every July during denning season with the Waterberg Wild Dog Initiative and the Endangered Wildlife Trust, support the conservation work that keeps packs like his going.

Wild Dogs are among Africa's most endangered large carnivores.

They need big territories, often ranging well outside protected reserves and as land gets carved up for farming and settlement, the packs get squeezed into smaller and smaller spaces.

Threats that our amazing Wild Dogs face are things like diseases such as rabies, which can take out an entire pack in weeks.

Hunter’s snares and the historic shooting and poisoning of packs seen as a threat to livestock, road collisions and competition with lions and hyenas for the same prey are all issues our conservationists work hard to address.

This is why habitat matters as much as headcount. Protecting African wild dogs means protecting their space.

In purchasing a bottle of Painted wolf w**e, you donate directly to addressing these issues. A portion of every bottle is donated to the Endangered Wildlife Trust to help fund further conservation efforts.
