Ever wondered what happens once a GPS collar is fitted?
That little piece of technology starts telling a much bigger story.
It allows conservation teams to follow an animal’s movements, understand the areas it uses, spot unusual behaviour and, in some cases, respond more quickly when something doesn’t look right.
Over time, all that information also helps build a clearer picture of how Kruger’s carnivores are moving through the landscape — and what they need to survive.
Through our Kruger Carnivore Fundraiser, two GPS collars have already been funded — and every additional collar puts another valuable conservation tool into the field.
One collar can tell us a lot. Together, they can help us protect a whole lot more.
