Farming alpacas under the stud name Manor House Alpacas since 2004, we started hand-weaving seven years ago as The Alpaca Loom. Today, the alpaca herd has grown substantially. The fiber is sent for spinning and is then either hand-woven or woven on a mechanical loom in small runs on the actual farm. The Alpaca Loom produces a variety of woven scarves, shawls, blankets and rugs using the beautiful

range of colours that our alpacas produce. We offer an exquisite range of handmade woven and knitted alpaca products. Have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake and enjoy the views with Table Mountain in the distance and our herd of alpacas and the dromedaries close by. Watch our weavers at work. It's fun for the whole family - Petting Zoo & Jungle Gym. Alpaca Barn Tours daily on the hour every hour with the first tour starting at 11:00.

What a rare occasion! A llama baby and an alpaca baby born on the same day!
Look at that difference in size!
Alpaca birthing season is in full swing with just over half of the crias born already.

Creep feed is magic stuff for crias.
Crias this way have continuous access to their own supply of good quality roughage and concentrates without greedy mums just gobbling it all down.
Just look at the display of colours when they hang out there together :-)
