Our estate wines are made with pride in provenance and humility in craftsmanship. We strive to make wines that are juicy yet structured, elegant, and above all authentic to the place they are grown. Noble Hill is located in the Simonsberg-Paarl appellation of origin, which has made some of South Africa’s finest wines dating back to the late 17th century.

the blue crane is south africa’s national bird. the vulnerable population of 26,000 has declined significantly since 1980. blue cranes don’t normally nest in vineyards due to chemical spray use, but we were overjoyed to host a breeding pair this year. two chicks hatched and one survived to adulthood. we can’t say with certainty that our organic viticultural practices contributed to this pair’s decision to raise a family on noble hill, but we think that the lack of synthetic chemical use means better insect life and a healthier food source for these majestic animals

one of the most rewarding aspects of being an organic vineyard is the proliferation of indigenous wildlife in and around the vineyards. our friend and importer of fine wine to the kingdom of bhutan, recently visited the estate. he’s a talented birder, and snapped some epic pictures of bird and wildlife on noble hill. which is your favourite?

“Spicy, exuberant varietal expression from 1987 heritage vines, 2023 is creamy & layered, with lemon cream confection & fine dried stonefruit. Chalky mineral-lees texture lends weight & mouthfeel. Wild yeast ferment/9 months in barrel, 10% new, & clay amphora. Upstages also-impressive 2022”
