My husband forgot his Apple Watch on the charger, and a message brightened the screen: "Last night was perfect" — I chose not to mention what I saw, but that morning, I wordlessly followed him once he stepped outside.
Cameron and I had been together as a married couple for nine years, built on a foundation of trust. In all that time, I’d never thought about checking his phone or doubting him. I believed we were always honest with one another.
That morning, while preparing breakfast in the kitchen, I noticed Cameron’s Apple Watch left behind.
He rarely, if ever, forgot to take it.
Suddenly, a notification showed up.
"Last night was perfect."
My heart jumped. No sender was shown—just those four words.
I waited, hoping for another message to bring some clarity.
Nothing followed. My mind was filled with questions. The night before, Cameron told me his team was finishing an urgent project, so he’d be late. I trusted his explanation, keeping his meal on the stove.
