Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister, Sello Seitlholo, officially launched the Water Sector Men’s Forum at Zebula Golf Estate in Limpopo to promote social transformation, meaningful engagement, and the advancement of gender equality within the sector. As part of the programme, the Deputy Minister led a pledge-signing ceremony to reinforce Men’s commitment to responsible conduct, accountability, and positive social change.

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) Board Chairperson, Dr Nndweleni Mphephu and Deputy Chairperson, Motalane Monakedi, led a delegation of Board Members, executives, and male employees to the launch in support of the initiative and to promote responsible, positive masculinity within the workplace and broader society.

LNW’s participation in the forum aligns with its ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusivity. In 2025, the organisation hosted its first Men’s Indaba, creating a platform for open and honest dialogue on issues affecting men in the workplace and society. The positive impact of the engagement is already evident, with many men within the organisation embracing healthier perspectives, stronger accountability, and a renewed commitment to being positive role models in communities and workplace.

The launch of the Forum builds on these efforts and reinforces the importance of creating safe spaces for meaningful conversations aemong men. It demonstrates that when men are empowered to engage constructively, challenge harmful stereotypes, and support one another, lasting behavioural change can be achieved, contributing to a more progressive, inclusive, and gender-responsive water sector.
