HB Glass Filter Media has already been explored in a municipal setting through the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Nooitgedacht water treatment project.

The challenge was clear: improve water quality, support flow requirements, and manage long-term maintenance costs. HB Glass Filter Media was used as part of a broader filtration upgrade, with early findings showing promising improvements in water clarity and particulate capture.

One important observation was that HB Glass media trapped more particulate than standard silica sand. This contributed to lower NTU values in filtered water, meaning clearer water output.
